Very interesting essay. I only know Otranto as the 'word' we use when we are doing spelling---like the Alfa, Charlie, Foxtrot system but with the names of towns instead. It must be a wonderful feeing to be so rooted in a place. In Milan there is a chapel with a similar arrangement of bones, but there is no evidence they were martyrs---perhaps plague victims, or just the reordering of a lot of bones from graves that had to be moved to make way for newcomers. Looking forward to the next installment.
Great first post and thank you for the audio! I look forward to listening to the next one.
Bravo DON Roberto! So well-written and really informative. Thank you for doing this.
Molte grazie Patrizio. Glad you liked it. One of these days I'll make it up to New York...

Thank you so much for reading, Vickie. Now, I am curious to find out the story about the chapel in Milan.

Grazie Roberto , sono orgoglioso per la tua storia. Per me è una cosa meravigliosa. Che mi fa sentire di essere italiano. Un abbraccio di vero cuore .
Grazie a te (e per il tuo fantastico limoncello).
Great read about an event I knew nothing about until 10 minutes ago. This is what I've come to Substack for, this kind of discovery. Subscribed!
Thank you. Feel free to ask questions as we go along.
